As a rough guide, traditional screed dries at about 1mm per day for the first 40mm, then slower after that — so a typical floor can take several weeks before it's ready for floor coverings. Fast-drying liquid screeds are usually walkable in 24–48 hours and can be ready for finishes far quicker. We'll give you exact timings for your job and screed type so your programme keeps moving.
It depends on the job. Liquid screed is fast, self-levelling, ideal over underfloor heating and great for large areas. Sand & cement is robust and flexible where you need depth or strength. We do both and we'll tell you honestly which suits your floor, budget and timescale.
